If Shunyuan had actually swallowed his pride, apologised for being a dickhead, and made up with HatCat, things might have been different. The plan is to eventually bundle at least two sound plugins and automatically assign the best one per game. You may have noticed that PJ64 supports per-game plugins now. Which menus in F1 Pole Position have problems? I retried it, it actually work (sorry), but some of the menu are broken. GLideN64, the new video plugin by one of Glide64's lead devs, will hopefully run Mario Tennis very well. ![]() I also managed to get Mario tennis working with the Pixel-Accurate N64 Software Video Plugin, but damn, even with my 4690k, it's too slow (get like 30 FPS :/). Also, many are hoping Azimer will come back and release a new version of his plugin, since the current versions are buggy and also crash on modern PJ64. That should fix stuff like Rogue Squadron having sound judder. There is some work going into porting 1964's audio plugin to PJ64. Also, it's not quite compatible with PJ64 anymore since some plugin bugs were fixed on PJ64's side. Same thing goes for his software graphics plugin. It's a useful plugin, but there is no way in hell it's going to be bundled with PJ64. It's an LLE plugin that contains an entire copy of HatCat's RSP interpreter-and he eventually quit the community and hasn't come back. The developer had arguments with other PJ64 developers over him failing to credit code-He's seen by several key figures as a crappy, self-centered programmer who stole other people's work. I have a question for you, why the audio plugin "Shunyuan's HLE Audio" isn't included ?īecause it's a taboo plugin. It's cool that PJ64 is still getting some development, at least! It's certainly improved over the last few years, even if there hasn't been anything groundbreaking. I find the experience is generally more polished there. I'll probably just continue emulating N64 games by using Dolphin to play Virtual Console titles. It works best for some stuff, but it's otherwise highly sub-par for others. Using exclusively the right analog stick for the C buttons isn't my definition of comfortable. Really not sure why N-Rage doesn't allow multiple buttons to be mapped to the same function, though. Yup, this is how I have it as well! Unfortunately, for stuff like the Zelda games where you may press Z and R simultaneously, it kind of breaks with the Xbox 360 controller when Xinput isn't enabled since DInput otherwise reads it as a zero/no input. Z goes on left shoulder button, R goes on right shoulder button. L always on the L2 trigger because very few N64 games use L.
